Brush Clearing & Tallow Removal in Simonton, Orchard & Wallis, TX
South of Sealy, the land drops into Brazos River bottom country. Simonton sits in the far northwest corner of Fort Bend County, bordered by the Brazos River. Orchard is just down SH 36, and Wallis is in the southeast corner of Austin County. It's rich, flat ground, and that's exactly what Chinese tallow loves. Leave a pasture, hunting tract or back lot alone for a couple of years and the tallow and privet move in. Farmer Brown & Co. is a family land-services and beekeeping business based in Sealy, run by Henry Brown Jr. and Zanaria Brown. We're one of the closest skid steer crews to these towns, clearing brush with high-flow Kubota machines. We also relocate live honeybees, place hives for ag valuation, and sell raw local honey.

Brush clearing in the river bottoms
Chinese tallow is an invasive tree that handles flooding and shade better than most native trees, which is why it takes over bottomland so quickly. It also comes back from the stump and from seed, so most bottom properties need a first cleanup and then regular maintenance. Common jobs around Simonton, Orchard and Wallis include:
Tallow and privet clearing: knocking back thickets in pastures, along fence lines and in hunting areas.
Pasture reclaiming: taking back hay and cattle ground that's gone to brush.
Fence-line and boundary clearing: opening up lines so you can fence, survey or simply see your property edges.
Hunting lanes and access trails: clearing shooting lanes, feeder roads and paths to stands.
Acreage homesite cleanup: clearing around homes, barns and drives on Simonton-area acreage.
Scheduled maintenance clearing: coming back on a schedule so tallow never gets ahead again.
Selective forestry mulching
Our skid steers do selective forestry mulching of brush and small trees. The material is ground in place, so there are no burn piles to manage and nothing to haul off. We keep the pecans, oaks and other hardwoods you want. Large timber gets scoped separately, and we'll tell you up front if your job needs it. For tallow, many landowners pair mulching with a follow-up stump treatment by a licensed applicator to slow regrowth.
Bottomland timing and floodplain
Much of Simonton lies in the 100-year floodplain, and bottom ground gets soft after rain. We schedule bottomland work for dry spells so the equipment doesn't rut your pasture. Check any city, county or drainage district rules for work near creeks and the river before you book.

Live bee removal
Hollow bottomland trees, barns, sheds and the walls of country homes all draw honeybee colonies. We're beekeepers, not exterminators. When bees move in, we:
look at your photos and tell you whether it's likely a swarm or an established colony,
confirm the entry point, height and building materials,
give you a written scope that lists exactly what's included, and
remove the bees alive and relocate the colony to a managed apiary when conditions allow.
We take swarm calls 7 days a week. Please don't spray the bees or plug the hole first. Request bee service →
Hive placement & ag exemption beekeeping
Texas allows beekeeping as a qualifying agricultural use under 1-d-1 open-space valuation on tracts between 5 and 20 acres. These towns sit in two counties, so start with the right district. Simonton and Orchard are in Fort Bend County, under the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District. Wallis is in Austin County, under the Austin County Appraisal District. Ask your district for its current beekeeping standards. The regular deadline for Form 50-129 is April 30, and land generally needs qualifying ag use for five of the previous seven years. We'll build a hive placement and management plan and keep dated visit records. Only the district decides approval. Learn about beekeeping ag valuation →
